While I’ve been to New York Fashion Week quite a few times, this was the first I made it all the way to Europe for London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks. Let’s call it a trip, a.k.a. good Instagram story!
Now, what would New York be without a great coffee a shop around every corner and a stunning night view of the pier? Whynot Coffee in the West Village was my favorite discovery. And running by the pier at night is the best way to get ready for the first day of fashion week.
Discovering new designers during fashion week is always so exciting for me. This season I was mesmerized by Tanya Taylor: her SS15 collection prints and colors, graphic patterns and amazing statement accessories. Alexander Wangs’s show was exceptionally dark and captivating.
Highlights of this NYFW SS15 season? Meeting the awesome Tommy Hilfiger himself – he’s such a fun guy and a gentleman. And realizing that wearing an ice white tulle top running from show to show looked pretty effortless and caught attention.
Other collections I loved: Charlotte Ronson and Mara Hoffman.
London: September 12 – 16
London fashion week was as quick as it was refreshing. Lots of emerging and extremely fashion forward designers, good energy, fun people. And I gladly got to meet probably one of the most acclaimed designers of the year: Hannah Weiland of Shrimps, a newly launched faux-fur fashion label.
Milan: September 17 – 22
After attending the Versace show, I had the pleasure to take a special tour at the Palazzo Versace where I pre-viewed the SS15 collection in person and fell in love with this pink tote, such an iconic piece. I also attended this exclusive dinner to celebrate the launch of Versace’s new collaboration with Italian liquor brand Disaronno.
Paris: September 23 – October 1
First of all, I can’t get over how enchanting Paris is! Just walking on Rue de Rivoli or around La Marais would make my day. And then there are the pastries at Angelina and the macaroons at Lauduree… tough choice.
I was very pleased by the pop of gold and whites at the Barbara Bui show; they always make the best leather jackets and structured blazers. The Issey Miyake show was such an amazing one; there was a great atmosphere brought by the balloons which opened the show in a Ghibli-like fantasy of white silhouettes at one end of the runway.
Among the presentation, the ones that entertained me the most were Audra, all about flowy silhouettes and watercolor prints and Ruper Sanderson with his colorful shoes in collaboration with Antonio Berardi.
