The Posters is a new Los Angeles based e-commerce company by Athena Currey and Adrian Rosenfeld, with a simple premise: selling excellent posters by emerging and established international artists. For each poster sold, a portion of the proceeds goes to arts education groups to pay for art classes for underserved youth in American cities.
The Posters’ first four posters are featuring unique work by Wyatt Kahn, Nate Lowman, Owen Schmit, and Paul Wackers, and the first arts education partner is Inner-City Arts.
Inner-City Arts, founded in 1989, is a learning oasis in the heart of Downtown LA. Their mission is to use arts education to positively affect the lives of underserved youth, improving their chances to lead productive and fulfilling lives by developing creativity, expanding learning skills and building self-confidence.
Adrian, a former director of Matthew Marks Gallery, has worked with the world’s leading artists for 15 years including Ellsworth Kelly, Brice Marden, Thomas Demand and Jasper Johns. Athena has been an arts professional with experience working with commercial and non-profit arts organizations including Alleged Gallery and University Settlement.

In this WWII biopic, Benedict Cumberbatch plays Alan Turing, the British mathematician who led his team (which includes Keira Knightley) to crack the “unbreakable” Nazi Enigma Code. From Swedish director Morten Tyldum, “The Imitation Game” is true to the life of Turing, who went on to develop the first computers and later was prosecuted by the government in an era when homosexuality was illegal.

Album reissue "When You Land Here, It's Time to Return"
Before The Shins, was Flake Music (originally just Flake). James Mercer, founder and frontman of The Shins and co-founder of Broken Bells, formed Flake in 1992 with drummer Jesse Sandoval, bassist Neal Lang and keyboardist Marty Crandall. The band toured with Modest Mouse and Califone and released their only full-length album “When You Land Here, It’s Time to Return” shortly before dismantling in 1999. The album was largely overshadowed by the flash-success of Mercer and Sandoval’s side-project The Shins, which each of Flake Music’s members played in for some amount of time. Newly remastered and remixed, “When You Land Here” is out via reissue to the satisfaction of many indie-rock connoisseurs.
“When You Land Here, It’s Time to Return” is out November 24th on Aural Apothecary via Sub Pop.
