Christopher Reale, Francesca’s brother, is an artist and photographer based in Los Angeles.
Actor Francesca Reale was recently back in Los Angeles for a break from rainy Vancouver, where she is filming season two of Haters Back Off!. I met up with Francesca at her parents’ home and noticed her brother has a makeshift photography studio in the garage. He agreed to shoot a few of his own photos to contribute to our story as well.
What’s your story of getting started as an actor?
My parents showed me a ton of old movies when I was a kid, and I fell in love with Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Audrey Hepburn. I thought to myself, “I have to do that.” Then I did a couple of musicals in high school and started training as an actor when I went to college.
What do you most like about your line of work?
The people that I get to meet and the places that I get to travel.
What inspires you?
Everything. My key point of inspiration is Audrey Hepburn (of course), but honestly anything and everything can be inspiring. A specific line of a book, movie or TV show, New York City when it’s snowing, LA when it’s sunny, a pretty sunset, a vintage piece of clothing, or a cool store. They can all trigger some point of inspiration for me.
If you were starting your own YouTube channel, what would you do?
I have no idea. I am absolutely hopeless with technology. So maybe it would be me learning how to using technology? That sounds horribly lame, I know.
How would you describe your style?
My style is very weather and mood dependent. I love the classic stuff like high necklines. I like patterns, but I mostly wear solid colors. When I’m not actively trying to look presentable or working, I’m all about comfort. Whatever I can move around in and is the softest works for me.
Do you recall your first favorite T-shirt?
I used to own this powder blue cotton T-shirt that was off the shoulder (even though I never wore it that way) with a high neckline in the front and a small scoop in the back. I am pretty positive I wore it for the majority of middle and high school.
What’s next for you?
To be determined! Filming the second season of Haters Back Off!
